I do remember Ozzie from Summit High School, we were in mechanical drawing class together, he was adorable. New to the area and that Latin lover look. We walked home after school with a group. He was with Ann Kendall then and she was a friend of mine. We kept in touch later in life through facebook, I will miss him he was a good friend. My prayers and blessings go to his family and friends. Rest in peace my friend. Sincerely, Eileen Kelly Thome class of 65.
Ozzie was one of the Cuban kids at St Joseph’s Orphanage in Helena, Montana . I remember him as one of the baseball players who answered the call when our American Legion team was short of personnel, I remember they were so young, we had to keep them awake with a supply of coffee, the actual team were older, we were teenagers.
Although later in life we lived in the same city, Port St Lucie, here in Florida, we were never able to get together, COVID got in the way.
My prayers to his family and wife Vivian Salort, may he rest in peace.
I never met Ozzie in person, but we shared through social media (Face Book). We also shared a similar story, as Peter Pan refugees and foster homes in Montana (mine at Bigfork, not very far from Whitefish). I offer my sincerest condolences to his family and my prayers for his eternal joy in the Lord's presence.
