Nydia Kelly's Obituary
Nydia C. Kelly, 91, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025 in Miami, Florida.
She was born on February 7, 1934, in Managua, Nicaragua, to Jose Maria Manfut and Amanda Borges.
She married John H. Kelly in 1958, and together they shared 25 years of marriage until his passing in 1983.
Nydia came to the United States on May 1980, along with her youngest daughter, to reunite with her husband and three other children who had come before to pursue a safer and better life. She worked tirelessly in various jobs to support her family as a young widow and ultimately spent her later years in the banking industry. She dedicated her life to her family and her church.
Nydia is survived by her loving family and three children: John H. Kelly, Jr., Ana Kelly Lugones (Dr. Roberto Lugones), and Blanca Kelly Langer (Rodney Langer); her daughter-in-law, Marisela Kelly (widow of her late son, Deacon Edgar A. Kelly); eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her kindness, devotion to family, deep faith in God, and unwavering devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John, her son, Deacon Edgar A. Kelly, parents and siblings.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, October 15, from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. at Memorial Plan Westchester Funeral Home, 9800 Coral Way, Miami.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Brendan Catholic Church, 8725 SW 32nd Street, Miami, on Thursday, October 16, at 10:30 a.m., followed by interment at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, 6200 SW 77th Avenue, Miami.
