Norma Toni Saavedra's Obituary
Our dear mother Norma Toni Saavedra, sadly passed away on November 25th, 2023, at the age of 88 due to a six month battle with complications from a stroke.
She is survived by her eldest son, Victor, her daughter Lisa, and youngest son Etienne Saavedra. She was very loved and will be missed terribly. If you would like to pay your respects, you are welcome to attend the memorial service we are holding in her honor at Branam Funeral Home, 809 N. Krome Ave, Homestead, FL 33030 on December 5, 2023, between 5 and 10 p.m.
Toni, as she preferred to be called, was loved and appreciated by many friends and acquaintances and was a well-loved member of the community in The Bronx, New York City and in Homestead, Florida
where she retired. She was proud to serve and work in NYC at the Albert Einstein, Rose Kennedy Children Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center for 39 years, where she helps schedule and keep families in touch and on time with patients Doctor’s agenda’s.
Many a time there were patients from all over the world who praise and honor my mother for her hard work, and loving approach of communicating the task at hand. I still remember how she would take work home to be able to call patients with reminders to be on time. She was a blessing to anyone who knew her and always worked with a smile on her face.
One thing I remember was our mother always taught us to be kind, and she led us by example. Everyone always told me how sweet, and warm and kindhearted she was not to mention her intelligence. As a
child I remember such great conversation about history and life challenges, her favorite past time was watching Movie Classic’s and game show’s Jeopardy and Wheel of fortune. She also loved to read, read, read!
She was a wonderful mother who was always there when weneeded her. Rest in Peace mom.
