I had the pleasure of visiting Hilda almost exactly two years ago, on February 21, 2024. I was so grateful that Victor and Fernando took me. I had heard many stories about her from Vic over the years, and she more than lived up to every one of them. What an amazing woman. I could have listened to her stories all day.

While we may not be able to relive that moment or enjoy “HBTV” with her anymore ;) , her legacy lives on through her wonderful family, beautiful people I’ve been lucky to know and call friends for many years.

I had the honor of meeting Hilda a few times, but also had the privilege of meeting her children, beginning with her son Victor, who is one of my dearest friends. If one's legacy is one's family, then Hilda must be so pleased at her beautiful and loving family - what an incredible woman, to have raised such outstanding, loving children.
To hear Victor and his family speak of her, is to know her beautiful spirit, may she rest in peace - what an amazing woman and what a beautiful legacy she leaves.

A few memories of my Tia Hildita:

1) As a child, I loved going to her house on noche buena, she always played the guitar and made us all sing silent night, amongst other Christmas carols.

2) Her laugh was infectous, especially when she was around loved ones, especially my Dad (her brother).

3) Her everlasting Love for her late husband and my dear uncle Yoyi.

4) My dad (her brother) passed exactly 8 months ago. I will never forget the day before his passing, how they shared stories of their past, as it was yesterday. They had a special bond, they are sharing stories now.

I have often read that the greatest impact we can have in the world is what we leave behind when we are gone. I have had the honor of getting to know the Barroso children for many years. Hilda not only made her mark with how she lived but the amazing human beings she put in this world to carry on her legacy. Her children say much about who she was. I wish I had the honor of meeting her. You have my deepest condolences.

HILDA WAS NOT JUST MY CLIENT SHE USE TO BE MY COWORKER IN BLOOMING DALES AND WITH TIME MY DEAR FRIEND EVEN THOUGH I HAD MOVE WE KEPT IN CONTACT AND WE TALKED FOR HOURS I LOVED HER AND SO DID MY MOM .
