Zenaida Acosta Sardinas' Obituary
Zenaida passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16,2024 in Homestead, Florida. She left this world the same way she lived her life, with grace and courage, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness.
Zenaida was born on October 11,1926 in Camagüey Grande, Matanzas, Cuba. She then moved to Havana where she met and married her husband, Fermin Sardinas on December 18, 1954. She was married to her loving husband Fermin for almost 70 years. Zenaida and Fermin immigrated to the United States in 1956, starting a new life in New York City, then moving to Port Chester, NY in 1963 where they lived for almost 50 years. Zenaida and Fermin later moved to Norwalk CT and then to Homestead, Florida in 2021. Zenaida is survived by her husband Fermin, her loving son Nelson and adoring daughter Iris, as well as her son in law Paul and 5 grandchildren, Ryan (Aly), Jonathan (Kristen), Brandon (Marisa), Samantha (Christopher), and Kristen.
Zenaida loved going for long walks, gardening, and cooking, but her true passion was being a devoted wife, an inspirational mother and the best Abuela in the world. She was greatly loved and will be forever missed. Her faith in God carried her through life’s trials and tribulations and she is now with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. May she rest in eternal peace. Please join us in honoring and celebrating her life.
Zenaida falleció pacíficamente el Martes, 16 de Abril del 2024 en Homestead, Florida después de una breve enfermedad. Dejó este mundo de la misma forma en que vivió su vida, con gracia y valentía, rodeada de su amada familia.
Zenaida nació el 11 de Octubre de 1926 en Camagüey Grande, Matanzas, Cuba. De ahí se mudó a la Havana, donde conoció y contrajo matrimonio con Fermin Sardinas el 18 de Diciembre de 1954 y con quien estuvo casada por casi 70 años. Zenaida y Fermin emigraron a los Estados Unidos en 1956, empezando su nueva vida en Nueva York, para después mudarse a Port Chester, NY en 1963, donde vivieron alrededor de 50 años. Zenaida y Fermin después se mudaron a Norwalk, CT y posteriormente a Homestead, Florida en el 2021.
A Zenaida le sobreviven su esposo Fermín, su amado hijo Nelson y su adorada hija Iris, así como su yerno Paul y cinco nietos, Ryan (Aly), Jonathan (Kristen), Brandon (Marisa), Samantha (Christopher), y Kristen.
Zenaida amaba ir por caminatas largas, la jardinería y cocinar, pero su verdadera pasión siempre fue ser una dedicada esposa, inspiradora madre y la mejor Abuela del mundo. Fue muy querida y se le extrañará por siempre.
Su fe en Dios le ayudó a afrontar las pruebas y tribulaciones de la vida y ahora está con su Señor y Salvador, Cristo Jesus. Que descanse en paz eterna.
