Zenaida Alvarez's Obituary
Zenaida “Mima” Alvarez, 82, passed away in Hialeah, Florida, on Friday, September 9, 2022, from multiple organ failure. She had been battling Parkinson’s disease for over 10 years.
Mima was born April 17, 1940, in Isla de la Juventud (previously Isla de Pinos), Cuba. She married her childhood sweetheart, Domingo “Pipo” Alvarez, and together had six children. Mima enjoyed spending time with her family, especially gathering for dinner with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mima is survived by her daughters Zaida Nunez, Olga Duque, Magaly Lopez, and Mariela Gomez, sons Andres Alvarez, and Ricardo Alvarez, and grandchildren Andy Alvarez, Lynn Alvarez, Quentin Gomez Jr., Jessy Duque, Mariana Nunez, Efrain Nunez Jr., and Christie Gomez, and great grandchildren Logan Nunez, and Max Nunez. Mima was preceded in death by her husband Domingo and grandson Omar Arias.
Mima was well loved and will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
