Negron, Zaida's Obituary
Zaida Negron May 31, 1951 – January 31, 2025
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Zaida Negron on January 31, 2025, at Homestead Baptist Hospital. She was 73 years old.
Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico, and raised in Newark, NJ, Zaida was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a hard worker and spent many years as a manager at Liberty Optical. It was in Newark where she met her husband, Francisco Negron, and together they built a life filled with love and resilience. This February would have marked their 50th wedding anniversary.
Zaida was a woman of immense strength and fierce love. She didn’t open up easily, but once she did, her loyalty was unwavering. Family was the most important thing to her, and she dedicated her life to her children, sacrificing whatever it took to ensure their success. She was also a mother figure to her siblings, always offering guidance and support.
She loved music, cooking, and keeping an immaculate home, finding joy in life’s simple pleasures. Although tough and fearless, she had a soft spot for her four grandchildren—Jonathan, Jannys, Valerie, and Jayson—always present for them until her health no longer allowed. Even in her final years, she held on with remarkable strength, sustained only by God’s faith and her family’s love.
Zaida is survived by her devoted husband, Francisco; her children, David, Frankie, and Jaqueline; and her beloved grandchildren. Though deeply missed, her love and legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
While she is no longer in pain, her spirit walks beside us, guiding and protecting us as she always has.
