Yolanda Naranjo's Obituary
Yolanda Naranjo was called home to our Lord on January 31, 2023 and now heaven has a new angel.
Born October 28, 1933 to Vicente and Juana, Yolanda, to all who knew her, was a unique and caring individual. She touched many lives through her service to Saint Lazaro Catholic Church in Hialeah, FL where she served as president of the Legion of Mary, a Eucharistic Minister, a Catechism teacher and served on ministries to assist the homeless. She later worshipped and found joy at Saint John XXIII in Miramar, FL.
She married Enrique in 1952 and raised 2 loving daughter, Irma and Yolanda. She was completely dedicated to her husband and children throughout her life.
Originally from Havana, Cuba, Yolanda came to the United States through the aid of her husband who escaped an oppressive Communist country to make a better life for his family. She worked side by side with him to bring their family members to the United States and offer them these same opportunities.
Each of her two daughters had two daughters who she helped raise and were her pride and joy. Later, Yolanda was blessed to meet and love all her great grandchildren. Yolanda served as matriarch and support for all her family who love and miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vicente and Juana Mosquera and her husband, Enrique Naranjo whom she now joins in eternal peace.
She is survived by her children, Yolanda and her husband Adalberto, Irma and her husband Joseph. Her grandchildren, Yolanda and her husband Martin, Diana and her husband Juan, Maria and her husband Juan, and Deborah and her husband Kevin. As well as all of her loving great grandchildren, Daniel, David, Nicholas, Matthew, Emily, Aislin, Isaiah, Logan and Jacob.
A mass will be held for Yolanda at Saint John XXIII Catholic Church in Miramar, FL at a date that will be provided. Any family or friends who wish to celebrate her life and honor her are welcome to attend. She will be buried at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in Doral, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to The Alzheimer’s Society of America in the hopes of finding a cure to this horrible disease or to St. John XXIII Catholic Church, or a charity of your choice.
