Yolanda Carreno's Obituary
Yolanda Carreño, born in Matanzas, Cuba on October 24, 1940, was called home by our Lord on February 24, 2025. We trust and pray that she is in the presence of our Lord, together with her spouse of nearly 59 years, Jose Antonio Carreño, sharing in an eternal exchange of love, peace, and joy. Emoji
Yolanda had wanted to be a nun. Instead, God called her to serve Him and others through her devotion to her marriage with her husband, Jose Antonio, and the family they created, including their children, whom she loved deeply and unconditionally, Jorge Carreño, Tania Carreño-Mederos, and Abel Carreño, their children's spouses, whom she loved as her own children, Nestor Mederos and Ailicec Carreño, and their grandchildren, whom she prayed for and kept in her heart always, Jorge, Carolina, Karina, Javier, Andres, Natalie, and Zachary.
Yolanda embraced life, finding happiness in gathering with her family and friends, dancing, singing, and traveling around the world, especially cruising the open seas with Jose. Whether exploring new destinations or enjoying the journey, she cherished every moment, always seeing the world with wonder and gratitude.
Yolanda's unwavering faith allowed her to have incomparable strength, courage, and unconditional love and to always have kind, hopeful, and encouraging words for all with whom she interacted, whether she knew them for a lifetime or for just a few moments. Her love, kindness, and joyful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all those she touched. May we all honor her memory with acts of faith, hope, courage, and love in our own lives.
