William Joseph Ballard's Obituary
William Joseph Ballard, Vietnam Veteran, known to his family and friends as Bill, passed away in the early morning of December 18, 2025.
Born December 5, 1946 in Urbana, IL, Bill Graduated from South Dade High School, Homestead, FL in 1965. After two years at Miami Dade College, Bill entered the US Air Force, serving as a Security Police Airman. Bill served tours of duty in Crete, Vietnam, and Homestead Air Force Base, Florida.
After serving the Air Force, Bill began working for Florida Power and Light. He moved to Jacksonville with FP&L and eventually retired and settled back in Homestead, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Frances Ballard, two brothers, Douglas Ballard and Thomas Ballard and a son, Kevin Ballard.
He is survived by two sons, William Keith Ballard and Thomas Kyle Ballard, two brothers, James Ballard and Gregory Ballard, and one Sister, Rhonda Hardin. Bill has six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at Graceland South Cemetery at 11:00 AM, December 30, 2025.
