Vladimer Zhvania's Obituary
Vladimer Zhvania passed away peacefully the morning of Monday, July 24th 2023 in his Miami home in the presence of his beloved wife, Dali. He was 68 years old.
Vladimer, or Jako, as he was known, was born December 26, 1954 in Zugdidi, Republic of Georgia to Valery and Taliko Zhvania. He was the second of three sons. He attended Tbilisi State University and Moscow State University where he earned his Ph.D in Mathematics Statistics and Probability. Jako married the love of his life and research partner, Dali Khabelashvili in 1980. They welcomed their daughter, Eka in 1981 and their son, Zurab in 1984. After the fall of the Soviet Union, they returned to their home country of Georgia. Though their country was in the grips of a civil war and economic collapse, his compassion and abilities as an innovator allowed him to support his entire family and be one of the leaders of the community by bringing food and business opportunity to a city in crisis. Until the day he died, Jako was known for his incredible generosity, selflessness and devotion to his family and friends. He never turned away anyone in need of help. His pride in his children and grandchildren and deep love of his wife carried him through even the darkest of times. He lived his life for his family and showed his unconditional love to the very end.
Jako is preceded in death by his mother, Taliko, his father, Valerie, and his brother, Zurab.
He is survived by his wife, Dali, brother, Akaki, sister-in-law Tamriko, uncle, Carlo, aunt, Tsiala, daughter, Eka, son, Zurab, daughter-in-law Cerise, grandchildren, Sofie, Natalie, Nicole, Ryker, Viggo and another expected, and nieces, Ketevan and Maka.
