Vivian Maldonado's Obituary
Beloved Mother and Wife
Vivian Malave Quinones (aka Vivian Maldonado) of Miami, Florida passed away on May 3rd 2024. She passed unexpectedly at home. At the moment she was called home by the Lord God, she was surrounded by family and passed peacefully. She was 77 years old.
Vivian was born on December 2nd 1946 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to her parents, Florencio Malave (father) and Ines Quinones (mother). She was the eldest of three daughters. In her youth, she was given the title of Queen of the Flowers, initiating a life-long love for flowers. After graduating from high school, Vivian attended Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She worked at the Ponce Government Center Social Services as a Social Worker working mainly with endangered minors.
In 1971, Vivian married the love of her life, Donald Maldonado. As children, they lived on the same street; Vivian lived in the first house and Donald lived in the last house on the block. They met properly as young adults, fell in love and married. Through thick and thin, Vivian and Donald went on to build a life together for 50 years.
Due to Donald’s transfer in 1983, Vivian and family moved to Miami, Florida. She worked for Miami-Dade County Schools as an office assistant for about five years. After that, she returned to her field and began working for the State of Florida in the Department of Children and Families. Throughout her life, Vivian loved her work and to be of service to others.
Vivian was a strong woman of faith, instilling these values in her children. She was honest and hardworking, and will be remembered as a loving, caring, protective mother and wife. Vivian is survived by her daughter and son, Marines and Donald, as well as her two sisters Rosario and Enid.
