Teresita Cabezas' Obituary
Teresita "Tere" Cabezas
Mrs. Teresita Cabezas of West Chester, PA passed away on July 8, 2022. She was born on November 20, 1935 in Esperanza, Cuba to Manuel and Ernestina Valdes.
If one thing is to define Tere, it is that she dearly loved her family and friends. She never hesitated to help anyone in need; from babysitting to document translation, her family relied on her.
In 1956, she married the love of her life Gilberto Cabezas and they blissfully settled in Cuba. In 1959, she was forced to flee Cuba with her infant son Gilbert, Gilberto joined them six months later. Tere and Gilberto successfully established an insurance and travel agency in New York City. After fifteen years, when Multiple Sclerosis prevented Gilberto's ability to work, they moved to Miami. Tere stood by his side the entire battle.
Despite many devastating obstacles, Tere continued to love and support her family in every way that she could. She spent the last 17 years of her life peacefully living with her daughter and son-in-law and had the joy of watching her two grandchildren grow into adulthood. She always expressed the love of her family in person and on Facebook. That unconditional love will be sorely missed.
Tere is survived by her daughter Jeanne Cabezas Jackson, son in law Kent Jackson and grandchildren Gabriela and Christopher Jackson. A Memorial Service is scheduled on Friday, July 15th, 2022 from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM at Memorial Plan Westchester Funeral Home 9800 SW 24th Street, Miami, FL 33165
