Silvia Alicia Rivas' Obituary
Silvia Alicia Rivas, a beloved matriarch and cherished educator of our community, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024, in Miami, Florida. She was 85 years old.
Born on November 3, 1938, in Havana, Cuba, Alicia, known as Mimi to her loved ones, was a spirited and bright personality who loved her large family fiercely. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Pablo Rivas, with whom she shared a loving marriage for over 57 years.
Alicia is lovingly remembered by her four children: Alicia Carver, Ana Rivas-Logan, Pablo Rivas, and Jorge Rivas. Her legacy continues through her 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who were the joy of her life.
Alicia’s joyful company will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of sharing in her life’s journey.
A memorial service to celebrate Sylvia’s remarkable life will be held on September 18 at Memorial Plan Westchester, Miami,FL at 9800 s.w 24th street from 5:30 – 10:30 p.m.
Alicia will always be remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
