Silvia Florentina Chente's Obituary
Silvia Chente departed this life on Friday, July 31st, 2020 at 7:53 PM EST at 92 years old. She passed at the University of Miami Hospital after an almost three-week admission due to pneumonia and endured the no-visit rules of the post-Covid era despite never being affected by it. She died accompanied by her granddaughters Monica and Elaine as well as her grandnephew, Fr. Richard Vigoa. The rest of her family was with her in spirit through the use of FaceTime; she parted surrounded by family in prayer. She is survived by her two daughters, Miriam and Elaine, and her grandchildren: Monica, Elaine, Vanessa, Miguel Angel, Michael, Suhail, Madeleine, Luis Angel, Hidalma, Otto, Aldo and Jeanette. Besides her numerous grandchildren, she leaves behind many great-grandchildren and family that loved her very much. In total her fruit yielded 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Her last days were spent at home living with her caregiver, Mercy, along with Maritza, Miguel Angel and Dayanis. She is joined in heaven by her recently departed great-grandson Matthew Hernandez, her son Miguel Angel Mijares, her husband Rene Mesa and her brothers: Silviano Lourdes, Senon and Francisco “Quico” Chente. Silvia was born in San Cristobal, Cuba to her father, Jose Angel “Pepe” Chente, and her mother, Erminia Cruz (Ortega). She arrived in Miami on her 38th birthday, June 20th, 1966, from Havana’s Airport, having lived her last years in Cuba in the city of Pinar Del Rio. Due to the pandemic, services will be held on Wednesday, August 5th, 2020 at 10:00 AM to a limited number of family and friends at San Jose Funeral Home with the burial to follow at 2:30 PM at Flagler Memorial Park.

Ella arribo a Miami el día de su 38a natalicio, el 20 de Junio, 1966, partiendo de La Habana y habiendo vivido sus últimos años en Cuba en la ciudad de Pinar Del Rio. Debido a la pandemia, los servicios funerales serán el Miércoles, 5 de Agosto, 2020 a las 10:00 AM a limitados números de familia y amigos en la Funeraria San Jose. Su entierro será a continuación a las 2:30 PM en el Flagler Memorial Park.
