Shirley Caves
Shirley Caves was born May 2, 1937. Her family moved to Homestead from New Castle Pennsylvania in 1947. She has lived in and loved Homestead for over 75 years.
She met her husband in school at South Dade High School. Raymond was in the first graduating class and Shirley was in the second graduating class.
They married in 1955 and lived on the family homestead land for over 60 years together. They were faithful members of Modello Baptist Church and then First Baptist Church for over 45 years.
Shirley loved and lived for her family. She enjoyed raising and taking care of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shirley had many hobbies, but cooking was one of her best! She always enjoyed cooking for days before big holidays and insisted on inviting everyone who could make it.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Charles Caves, Alan Caves; two grandchildren, Christina Caves and Christopher Caves (Cathleen); six great grandchildren, Joseph Rodriguez, Jason Rodriguez, Cara Caves, Robert Caves, Perry Thomas and Michael Thomas. Shirley was pre-deceased by her husband, Raymond Caves.
