Sara Hortensia Cid's Obituary
Sara Cid (Tata) was born in Rodas, Cuba on January 19. 1936 to her parents Inocencio Cid and Candida Pino. She was a loving protector to her little sister Sonia Alvarez. She was married to Andres Morales and helped raise his children Jorge Morales and Sarita Morales.
Tata was a brilliant woman who sought to heal and nurture all those around her in her cherished profession as a respiratory therapist. In her selflessness she chose to retire early at the age of 62 to raise her great niece Emily Quintero who she devoted herself to raising and always saw her as the baby she was never able to have.
Tata loved her family so very fiercely and played a pivotal role in her nieces and nephews upbringing as if they were her own children. She also leaves behind her niece and God child Alina Alvarez whom she impacted greatly with her reverent catholic faith. She also used to use her wonderful sowing talents to design beautiful dresses for Alina as she always went the extra mile to make those she loved feel special and cherished.
Similarly, she leaves behind her nephews Amaury and Miguel Alvarez, as well as her great nieces Amber, Ashley, and Heather Alvarez as well as her great nephews Alex and Kevin Alvarez.
Outside of her family life, she served her community and church with unwavering devotion. Tata was a Eucharistic Minister at Fair Haven Nursing Home connecting those who were unable to visit the church to receive the Lord Jesus Christ through the sacrament of communion. She also supported the less fortunate by partaking in Camillus Casserole Ministry preparing hot meals for the displaced.
Tata will be so very missed by her family, parish, and friends. Her beautiful soul and kindness will never be forgotten. She will be our guardian angel in the sky always protecting and guiding us as we continue on our own journeys to the kingdom of God.
