Russell Dean Watts' Obituary
Russell Dean Watts of Florida City, Florida died on August 16, 2023 in Homestead, Florida. He was 89 years old.
Russell was born on July 31, 1934 in Archer, Iowa to William R. and Amanda Watts. He graduated from Paullina High School in 1952 before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He attended college on the GI Bill and graduated from the University of Iowa. He married his high school sweetheart Rosemary Eschenbacher in 1956, and they started their family. They moved to Illinois and raised four children while Rosemary worked as a registered nurse, and Russell built his career as an accountant. They retired to Key West, Florida in 1997, fulfilling their dream of enjoying a tropical home. Russell lived his final years in Florida City with his family.
Russell is survived by his daughter, Robin Larsen, and son, Joseph Watts, both of Florida City, as well as son and daughter-in-law, Russell N. and Ellen Watts of Zion, Illinois. He had six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary; son, Samuel; and siblings, Robert, Rodger, Ronald, Delores Wussler, and Ruth Ann Pasquali.
A memorial service officiated by Pastor Don Stier will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tavernier, Florida on a date to be announced.
