Rosa E Ledesma's Obituary

Ms. Rosa E. Ledesma, born in Guaranda, Ecuador on July 8, 1928, to her loving parents, Segundo Ledesma and Josefina Cozzarelli, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 7, 2025 at the age of 96.

Rosa spent her first 70 years living a good life in Ecuador growing up and raising her family with her unconditional love. She then lived in the United States for her remaining 26 years where she helped raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a loving and generous sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Rosa was a wonderful homemaker with the gift of hospitality who placed the highest priority on her family, enjoying family gatherings as well as cooking and serving others. She viewed her cooking for family and friends as her ministry of love. She made sure everyone was well fed!

Rosa treasured the simple pleasures of life such as taking long walks, watching the children play and engaging with every child she came across with a big smile. She loved the Lord and His creation. She found joy in sitting on the back patio with the warmth of the sun on her legs, watching and listening to the birds sing, feeling the cool breeze and admiring the beauty of the blooming flowers.

Rosa will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. She was a blessing to everyone she encountered. We look forward to seeing her again when we are reunited in Jesus’ Heavenly Kingdom.

Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Perez, her eight brothers and sisters as well as her great-granddaughter, Kennedy Swinson.

Rosa is survived by her children: Luis Fernando Perez, Gladys Yolanda Salazar (Jorge, Sr.), Rocio Ivens and William Ramiro Perez (Dina); her grandchildren: Maria Paola Pazmino (Shaun W. Smith), Jorge Salazar, Jr., Jocelyn Martinez (Victor), Pamela Velez, Shannon Castillo (Joe Swinson), Brian Ivens (Adriana), James Ivens (Sadie), Luisfernando Perez and William Perez; and her great-grandchildren: Josiah Smith, Benjamin Smith, Isabella Velez, Ezekiel Velez, Sebastian Swinson, Asher Swinson, Samantha Perez and Brittany Perez.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, 7 PM, in the Chapel of San Jose Ferdinand Funeral Home, 250 E 4th Ave, Hialeah, FL 33010. The viewing will be from 5 PM to 10 PM.

Rosa will be laid to rest alongside her late husband in Quito, Ecuador.
