Rolando Llahues' Obituary
Rolando Llahues Pena (September 19, 1928 - April 5, 2021) of Havana, Cuba and resident of Miami, Florida, will be remembered by his faithful wife of 55 years, Aurora (Chartrand), son Manuel and his wife Melissa, and granddaughter Laylah, as a gifted thinker dedicated to his family and to sharing his passion for learning. Rolando thrived in academia at the University of Havana where he worked as a professor after earning a doctorate in physical chemistry. He was fluent in five languages, and served as the Secretary of Havana’s German Club. Prior to emigrating to Spain and finally the United States in 1979, he worked as a laboratory director for Crusellas and Co. Rolando will be laid to rest at Miami Memorial Park on Saturday, April 10. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a book donation to the Miami-Dade Public Library System.
