Rolando Guillama's Obituary
On Monday, January 23rd, Rolando Guillama, Loving Husband, and Father, passed away at age 61.
Rolando was born in Havana, Cuba to Elba Pavon and Rolando Guillama.
He had a passion for reptiles and practiced herpetology throughout his life. He specifically had a passion for turtles.
The self-proclaimed Turtle Man of Miami worked and was able to retire from Costco Wholesale after 20 years.
Married to Nilda Perez for over 30 years, together raised their son and helped raise his stepson since he was 3.
Rolando had a love for Snakes, lizards, geckos, and turtles. His turtle of choice was the snapping turtle. He loved it so much he went through out all the rivers and canals of Miami catching different species up to the day of his passing.
He also had a love for professional wrestling and was big on Christian and religious studies.
Attending wresting events throughout the 90's, early 2000's and attending several events the last year of his life. He worked in that industry as a side job for a little bit able to interact with wrestlers such as "Sabu" and be a personal valet for the legendary "Terry Funk"
He collected rare and out of print religious books from the likes of Christianity, Mormonism, Jehovah witness and more. He loved researching the great mysteries of the bible and the secrets life may have in store for us.
Rolando is survived by his wife Nilda, his son Rolando, his stepson Tomas, his Mother, sister, brothers, stepsisters, stepbrothers etc.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, February 12th, 2023, at the Branam Funeral Home
