Roberto A Perez's Obituary
Roberto A Perez, born in Cuba on July 2, 1936, Passed away on February 22, 2025 at the age of 88. A devoted husband, brave pilot, and political prisoner who endured 11 years of brutal punishment in Cuba. Through unimaginable hardship, his spirit remained unshaken, his love for his family unwavering, and his commitment to freedom unyielding.
In 1959, he was among the airmen unjustly tried in “El Juicio de los Aviadores”, acquitted, and then sentenced to a long prison term under Castro’s orders.
He was married to the love of his life, Irene, for 67 years. He is survived by his bride, Irene and his three daughters, Irene, Fabiola (Thomas James Tansey, III), Fatima and his grandchildren Thomas James Tansey, IV, Andres Chavez & Gabriela Chavez.
Viewing will be held at Memorial Plan San Jose - Ferdinand on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 from 6pm to 10pm. Mass will be at St John the Apostle Catholic Parish Miami on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 10am, Followed by burial at Caballero Rivero Dade North at 11:30am ETA
