Born in Havana, Cuba, on December 28, 1935 to the late Dr. Roberto Perdomo Sr. and
Margarita Mendez Perdomo, Roberto’s life was marked by devotion to his family, dedication to his profession, and an unwavering curiosity for life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Esperanza Suarez Perdomo, his sister, Margarita Fernandez, and his five children:
Esperanza Steinmiller (Philip Steinmiller), Ana Maria Cantero (Raoul Cantero, Esq.), Maggie Perdomo (Gabriel De la Campa), Dr. Robert Perdomo III (Arev Perdomo), and Luis Perdomo, Esq. A distinguished dental professional, Roberto earned his DDS degree from the University of Havana in 1960 and later his DMD degree from the University of Alabama in 1967. His career was marked by excellence, leadership, and service. He was a member of numerous esteemed
organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity. In 1971, he helped found CEOLA HELO and dedicated his expertise to serving the community, most notably through his volunteer work with Community Smiles.
Roberto’s passion for dentistry was matched by his passions for his personal interests. He loved coaching and watching baseball, listening to music, and playing the “tumbadora” drums. He took pride in developing his cooking skills, sharing meals, and creating memories with his family and friends. His warmth, humor, and love for life touched all who knew him. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at the Church of the Little Flower, in Coral Gables, Florida.
In the words of Miguel de Cervantes, a sentiment that Pipo embodied throughout his life: "Porque la esperanza siempre nace al mismo tiempo que el amor."
