Robert Kenneth Gentes' Obituary
Robert Kenneth Gentes was born March 25, 1931 in Coral Gables, Florida. He was called home by the Lord on August 24, 2020.
After finishing 12 years of school Bobby followed his father’s footsteps into the Navy. His father was a lieutenant in the Navy during World War I. Bobby enlisted in the Navy during the Korean War. He was commissioned on the USS Oriskany, serving 4 years. After returning home he went to work at Graves refrigeration and air-conditioning. This set Bob on the path to becoming a mechanical contractor in air-conditioning. Bob met his wife Bobbie in the late 1950s and at 27 years old he married the love of his life Roberta (Bobbie)Keeper. Their journey as Bob and Bobbie went on for 60 years. Bob was an avid airplane pilot and flew Bobbie to Cuba for their honeymoon.
In the 1960s Bob and Bobbie started Air Kool Air-conditioning Service. They had a successful business. Bob also built homes for resale he built a weekend home in the keys where as a family spent almost every weekend there. Bob and Bobbie spent their retirement years there also. Bob also built cabins in the North Carolina mountains where the family vacationed yearly. Bob was lovingly called Daddy Bob by his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob was predeceased in death just 10 months earlier by his loving wife Bobbie. His parents were Helen Kohler Gentes and George Kenneth Gentes. He is survived by his five children Sandra Grimsley, Susan Perkins ,Deborah McClenathan ,Cherie Gentes and Kenneth Gentes. His
Grandchildren,Matthew Chavez, Danielle Baker ,Jacob Perkins , Coral Crib ,Shelby Price ,Chelsea Gentes , Carley McClenathan , Austin McClenathan and Patricia Hahn.
Great grandchildren Hudson Baker,Brooks Baker Nola Lee ,Rose Leona ,Olivia Catherine ,Isaac McClenathan ,Asher Robert Price, Michaela Hohn, Ashlin Hohn, Stephen Bristow ,Sean Bristow and Dominic Hendrickson. Bob and Bobbies ashes will be returned to the ocean in front of Rodriguez Key in Key Largo . Rodriguez key was their view from their keys home for over 50 years. Daddy Bob and Grandma Bobbie will be greatly Missed.
