My dear Maria, Juan, Daniel, Angie, Rob, Lazara, Juana, Frank, Beatriz and Veronica on behalf of my family and myself we were very grateful to meet and become so close many years ago. Our friendship led us to many wonderful memories together. Rene was truly the best Pulmonary Physician I have ever met. His dedication to his patients was incomparable. His memory will remain in our hearts forever. Farewell Rene. You will be missed. You are all in our prayers.
Dr. Gonzalez was my mentor for 5 years as a medical student and medicine resident at Palmetto General Hospital. He was an excellent teacher, and I still hear his voice reminding me to perform a good physical exam! He was also funny, always sharing jokes or interesting stories he would come across online. Above all else, he was kind, and I always looked forward to working with him. He will be sorely missed, and I hope his memory is a blessing to his family and everyone whose life he made better as a doctor and friend.
