Raymond Lewis Kelly's Obituary
Raymond Lewis Kelly, 91, of Homestead FL, passed away on January 29, 2023.
He was born on August 18, 1931 in Meadowview, VA to the late George and Mabel Kelly. The family moved to Homestead where he spent the majority of his life.
Raymond was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Grace, of 65 years, four children - Merrie (John) Feole, Roger (Kim) Kelly, Terrie (Edward) Crow, and William (Tina) Kelly, 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Homestead High and was co-owner of the Gulf service station in Homestead. He worked at Florida Portland Cement until he retired after 25 years. After retiring, he partnered with Kern Carpenter Farms, managing a “U-Pick” vegetable stand along Krome Avenue until the age of 80. He had a passion for farming and grew papayas for many years. He was an accomplished mechanic and fabricator. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and took them on many camping and fishing trips.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Virginia Spilka, Katherine Ames, and Patricia Murph and one brother Wesley Kelly.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on February 18, 2023 at First United Methodist Church, 622 N. Krome Ave. Homestead, Florida.
