To the man who shaped childhood:
To take in children and raise them with such fierce protection and purpose is a rare kind of love. Thank you for being the appointed father I needed when the world felt uncertain. Because of you and my aunt, I didn’t just grow up, I thrived. You gave me more than a roof over my head; you gave me a foundation of faith, resilience, and the endurance to stand tall. You taught me that the true meaning of family isn't defined by the thoughts of others, but by the depth of our commitment to one another.
I remember asking you what made you take in and raise two additional children as your own. You looked at me and said, "Blood does not allow blood to spill." That is the most profound truth I have ever heard. It explained everything about who you were. You didn’t just see a responsibility; you saw a sacred bond that you refused to let break. You lived that truth every day, protecting us and teaching us that giving back through love is the highest calling we have.
I am a strong, fearlessly determined woman today because you and my aunt set high goals for my success and never let me settle for less. Every time I face a "no" or a difficult season, I lean on the will to press forward that you instilled in me.
I carry your love in how I treat others, and I carry your strength in my soul. You didn't just give me a home; you gave me a future. I will carry your words and your legacy with me for the rest of my life.
I love you, Papi. 💛
