Patrick Ryan-Roland Lafaille's Obituary
Patrick Lafaille, Jr., unexpectedly passed away in Homestead, Florida, on Wednesday, September 2, 2020. He was born on July 5, 1999, in Hollywood, Florida. Patrick was with us for 21 beloved years. He was the adored only child of Patrick and Viola C. Lafaille. Their beautiful bouncing baby boy was the ONLY male child born in his generation. He was crowned the “Lafaille Prince.”
Patrick was a typical little boy who loved his many toys, friends and video games. Later, he was known for making music. His coined phrase was, “You know how we rock.” He was multi-talented but he especially enjoyed skating and sporting events.
By the time Patrick reached his teenage years he was an outstanding offensive lineman at his high school. His family still called him “Little Patrick” although he stood over 6 feet tall. He was #67 for the Buccaneers at South Dade Senior High School in Homestead, Florida, where he graduated in 2017.
A man of many talents, one of Patrick’s hidden abilities was his artistic skills. He decided to continue his education at Florida A & M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida, where he majored in Graphic Design. His ultimate goal was to pursue a graduate degree in Anime, a style of Japanese film and television animation.
Patrick’s mother affectionately called him “Tricks” because he was so fond of card and magic tricks. They enjoyed many sweet and memorable moments, including watching all of the “Rush Hour” sequels together. It was always a joy to be in Patrick’s presence. His
father will forever hold memories of their carefree outings riding ATV’s in the Everglades.
Patrick was a young man still in his youth. He was energetic and fun to be around. He had a laid back presence. His gentle soul combined with his contagious smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him. And those who knew Patrick knew he truly loved his parents and his extended family.
His precious memories will remain in the hearts of his devoted parents, Patrick and Viola C. Lafaille; his loving grandmother Roswitha Carroll; adoring aunts, Layla C. (Phaion) Hicks, Jocelyne L. Calixte, and Nirva Lafaille; dedicated uncle, Eddy (Nancy) Lafaille; caring cousins Cassandre Calixte, Vicky (Dante) Smith, Patricia (Kevin) Steele, Kimberly Calixte, Natasha L. (Cornelius) Smith, Karla Elie, Crystal L. (Matthew) Miller, Nicole L. (Zachary) Allen, Laura (Gordon) Ruise, Bryce Hicks, Charissa Lafaille, Gabby Lafaille, and Jolie Lafaille; 19 younger second cousins and longtime best friend Jason Aubin. He is also survived by a host of sorrowing classmates, friends, neighbors and coworkers.
Patrick was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerard and Immacula Lafaille, and Bobby Carroll; and aunt Darlene Lafaille.
