Uncle Orestes, you will be dearly missed and always lovingly remembered by our family. We acknowledge all your scholarly achievements in the academic field, such as writing and editing numerous books in your native country of Cuba while teaching at The University of Havana. Orestes also established an Academy where the curriculum was shorthand, typing and mathematics and it was conducted on the second level of his Havana residency. He was a Cuban immigrant who exiled to the United States of America (USA) in reach of freedom and a better life for his loving family; as a family unit he and his beautiful, intelligent and loving wife, Mireya Hernandez, diligently applied themselves, struggled and persevered to create a modest lifestyle for their family. Orestes received a Masters of Science in Education and specialized in the field of mathematics. He was employed by the New York City (NYC) Department of Education for over twenty-five years where he imparted a wealth of effective instructional knowledge upon his dear students. When Orestes retired from the NYC public school system he moved to the Sunshine state with his family. Orestes was a great provider and an exceptionally loving, affectionate, nurturing supporting, accepting respectful and caring parent. He will definitely be missed by all but specially by his children Orestico and Javier. May the Lord our God have you in his grace uncle Orestes. With loving thoughts, Elvirita
