I met Olga Sori when I would visit the Miami Heart hospital in Miami Beach. Always smiling and happy to help. Many years later, as fate would have it, I met her daughter Susana and husband Roman who would become great friends. Olga, I learned, was a canasta player and a good one at that, she enjoyed hearing and telling stories and was overall a cheerful person. Cheers to a life well lived and having the fortune of having a daughter who cared for you so lovingly. I’m glad we met. RIP. With love Alda

As long as have lived I remember the Sori Marin’s and especially remember Olga as a kind and genteel lady who always cared about others .When we came to Chicago in 1962 the Sori Marins did not live far and so our families became close in exile as we tried to settle in our new land. There were many weekend sleepovers in their house in Midlothian, Il and in our home in the south side of Chicago . Olga always welcomed us and watched over us but consistently letting us have a good time .After the Sori Marin family moved to Michigan our families kept in touch and visited often . I remember one particular weekend when my sister Tita and me were staying with them in Benton Harbor and we all went to a vegetable stand and something happened that the tomatoes in the backseat got wet. I wonder why ??!! Olga always used to laugh when I brought up that incident years later:)!!!Susie and Manolito -I lost my dear mother 11 years ago and there is not one day that goes by that I do not think of her as you will . But oh what wonderful memories you’ll have of that wonderful lady who was your mami!!! Love and ?? Teté Garcés

Olga always welcomed us with love and respect…she made us feel like family. Olga was gracious and kind…she laughed easily and loved music and dancing. The last time my husband, Joel, and I saw Olga was for her birthday and the restaurant owner was so taken with Olga that he came over to speak with her and take her picture with him. We had so much fun! We will miss Olga.

As Susana said about Olga she was a ” great example of courage, strength, tenderness, love and respect to others.” I knew her over 50 years , I would run into her often , she was a volunteer at the hospital I worked at. Olga was always there to help so many who need it. Always had a positive thing to say with a smile. I will miss her and pray for her . Her son and daughter are just as wonderful, she was proud of them . Olguita un besote grande de mi corazon al suyo .

I was very fortunate because I was able to enjoy Olga’s friendship for 16 years.I cherish so many memories , her welcoming smile and love when I visited her home, our card “continental” matchs, and me telling her Olguita I love you as another mother because I love Susi as a sister, and she would reply” es verdad chica” and respond with a warm heartfelt smile.I will miss Olga very much, but I will stay with the beautiful memories and the satisfaction that she had a beautiful life.Olga you know rest in peace.

I will always remember Olga. She and her family were our neighbors in Camaguey, Cuba, where we lived practically next door to each other. I have very fond memories of her as I would spend a considerable amount of my free time at the Sori’s household playing with Mano and Susy, two of my closest childhood friends. Olga was always kind and loving and would always make me feel welcome at their home. I remember once when I cut my foot with a chain link fence at their home. She immediately took care of me treating the wound with a lot of care and taking care of me. As a very young child, I was invited to the Sori’s beach home in San Jacinto, where I would stay for a few days. Olga would always watch over me and take care of me making me feel at home in their house. I remember her tucking me in bed at night, reminding me to always say my prayers and making sure that I was comfortable. She will be missed by me as well as by the many others whose lives she lovingly touched.
