Olga Elena De la Fe's Obituary
Olga Elena de la Fé was born August 1, 1930 in Havana, Cuba and died June 18, 2024 in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Elena grew up in Havana, Cuba with her parents and two siblings, Octavio and Hilda. This is also where she met her late husband, Carlos de la Fé. The two were married on June 1st, 1958 and had their first child, Nancy in July 1959, followed by their son, Carlos, in December 1960. She fled Cuba December 1966, with her two kids and parents, who shared the same household. Her husband was forced to stay behind by Cuba’s communist government. They reunited in 1967. Whether it was fleeing Cuba due to political persecution, creating a life and home in a foreign country, or her devout love of God, Elena led a fearless life of unequivocal faith. She devoured God’s word, and prayed without ceasing for her family and friends. Elena is survived by her two children, Nancy and Carlos, her four granddaughters and her seven great grand children. Though she led a quiet and humble life, she has touched the hearts of so many. Elenita, along with her witty responses and hilarious catchphrases, will be greatly missed by all. As she would always say as she made her exit, “Me voy con la música a otra orquesta.”.
