Ofelia was born on March 6, 1926, in Manatí, Cuba.
Ofelia, along with her family, moved to Victoria de las Tunas where she grew up alongside her parents, Dr. Gerardo Plasencia and Fara Herrero, her siblings and her cousins. Their home was lively, filled with conversation, love and strong personalities.
Ofelia was a deeply curious woman, very independent and loved adventure.
Ofelia wed Ricardo Solis on February 22, 1952 and were together for 63 years until his passing.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a steady presence whose warmth and wisdom touched everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her three children, Ofelia, Lourdes, and Ricardo Jr., her eight grandchildren, and her eight great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her values, strength, and love.
Ofelia’s legacy is one of resilience, faith, and unconditional love. She leaves behind generations shaped by her guidance and care, and memories that will be cherished forever. May our heavenly Lord keep her in the palm of his hands and may her soul rest in eternal peace.
