Neville C Goring's Obituary
Neville Churchill Goring was born in Kingston, Jamaica on the 9th of February 1941 to parents Huxley and Victoria Goring of Grand Cayman. He attended Central Branch Primary School for seven years before moving on to higher education, getting his license in engineering from England.
Neville married Zadie Pamela Hill on July 8, 1967, and they had a son, Christopher Goring (1972). Christopher is preceded by Neville’s first-born daughter, Feron Goring, and step-daughter, Suzanne Spence. While living in Jamaica, Neville worked as a marine engineer going to sea for international travel, often shipping out of Grand Cayman.
In July of 1980, he moved from Jamaica to Florida with his family, settling in Miami, where he worked as an engineer for Kelly Tractors for the first few years. Continuing his engineering career, Neville worked for Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer from 1982 until he retired in 2007.
He is predeceased by his parents, older sister Corita Reid, older brothers Lindo George (Stormy) and Max Huxley, younger brother Leroy Carlton, and grandson Keon Goring.
Neville is survived by his wife Zadie; his children Feron, Suzanne, and Christopher; his grandchildren, Nicole Spence (Fidel), Camille Dixon, Danielle Conti (Fiori), William McCoy Jr. (Hannah), Crystal Goring, and Tyler Goring; as well as his great- grandchildren Khalid Dixon and Keon Goring Jr.
His family and friends remember the sound of his hearty laughter and his love of Westerns, country music, Anne Murray, Barbara Streisand, Bette Middler, the Florida Marlins, spicy food (he loved his scotch bonnet pepper), playing the guitar, and fishing with his grandchildren.
Surviving him too are his sister Leleith and his brother Donnie
