Miles Allen Shumaker's Obituary
Miles Allen Shumaker, 54 passed away on Tuesday July 25th, 2023 at 2:12pm. While at Baptist Health Miami shortly after being dignosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Originally from Manhattan, Kansas, born on the 11th of June, 1969. He lived in Richmond, KY for 17 years as well as Marathon, FL for 5 years where he was not only an important member of the community, but deeply loved as well. Miles had been a journeyman lineman for 34 years doing every job within the company, from grunt work to line superintendent and was very passionate about his work keeping everyones lights on. Beyond his work, Miles also loved participating in lineman rodeos where he helped Bluegrass Energry bring home a world championship. He was also involved in team roping in rodeos events in his younger years. Miles was also an avid outdoorsman where he loved everything from dove hunting, deer hunting, turkey hunting, fishing, farming, gardening, fourwheeling, 3 wheelers, anything that involved being outside or on the water. Above all else Miles was a one of a kind husband, father,grandfather, brother, son, and friend. Miles has survived by his Bride ( Wife ) Billie Jean Shumaker, 4 Kids - Kelsie Snowden (Richard Snowden), Kaylen Shumaker, Cody Shumaker (Dana Shumaker), and Austin Oliver (Ashley Oliver). 12 - Grandchildern, Eli, Aspen, Freya, Aaliyah, Ayden, Keaton, Hunter, Blakeleigh, Madelyn, Melody, Nathan, and Harmony. 2 Sisters - Gloria Loberg ( Allen Loberg ) and Lexanna Shumaker. Parents - Francis Shumaker & Yawanna Shumaker. Miles also had a very large and loving group of friends. Miles was a loving husband and amazing father as well as an amazing grandfather and will be missed greatly by everyone. But even God needs help in heaven keeping the lights on. (John 14:27) I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart and the peace I give is a gift the world can not give. So dont be troubled or afraid.
There will be 2 celebration of life ceremonies held, one in Marathon, Florida and one in Richmond, KY. Dates will be announced at a later date once available.
