Mario F Lama's Obituary
Miami, Florida - MARIO F. LAMA. Loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Mario “El Maestro” Lama, 78, of Miami passed away Wednesday 28, 2023. Mario was born in Cuba on August 23, 1944.
Mario loved playing dominoes and good food. He played baseball in Cuba until he got incarcerated because was against the Castro regiment.
Mario did not want his only daughter to grow up under a communist government, left his beloved homeland of Cuba with his family in search of Freedom in 1981, arriving in Costa Rica and then making Miami his second home in 1984 where he worked as an accountant for various construction companies and lived the American dream.
His passion was his daughter Lisette, who with all his help and motivation went to college, graduated with a master's degree in human resources and business and his adored wife Mercedes.
He is survived by his wife Mercedes, daughter Lisette, son-in-law David, brother Javier, nieces Lorena and Clara Lilia and siter-in-law Amada.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 2nd, 5:00 PM-10:30 PM, at Memorial Plan Westchester Funeral Home, 9800 SW 24th St, Miami, FL 33165. Burial will be Monday, 10:00AM, at the Memorial Plan at Miami Memorial Park Cemetery, 6200 SW 77th Ave, Miami, FL 33143.
