Maria Julia Diaz's Obituary
Maria Julia Diaz, 75, passed peacefully on September 28, 2021, in Miami, Florida, where she had resided for most of her adult life. Maria Julia "Julie" was born on November 23, 1945, to Rafael Keith and Maria Luisa Aguilar Rodriguez, in San Jose, Costa Rica. She lived there till she was 13, when she moved with her family to Wantagh, New York, where she graduated from Wantagh High School in 1964. She met her husband, Arquimides "Archie" Diaz, in 1966, at a party in Baldwin, Long Island, where we are told she was impressed with his brand new Mustang! They were soon married at St. Agnes Cathedral, in Rockville Center, Long Island, on October 12, 1968, and honeymooned in Miami. They had their daughter, Virginia Marie, in Plainview, Long Island, and soon thereafter, the young family decided to move to Florida as her husband's occupation, air-conditioning and refrigeration, would be much more gainful in a warmer climate. After a couple of years, they had their sons, Jorge Alberto and Roberto Luis. Julie was a caring and devoted mother, who worked in schools her entire adult life so that she could be home when her children returned from school. She worked as a Cafeteria Manager at Olympia Heights Elementary School, Riviera Junior High School and Marjorie Stoneman Douglas Elementary School, and retired in 2004. She ensured that all three of her children made education a top priority, and that they graduate from college (two of them from Ivy League schools); she was always fiercely proud of her children's and grandchildren's many accomplishments. Julie always had a smile on her face and was known to all for her willingness to help anyone in need. She was a devoted Catholic and life-long parishioner at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Miami. She leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories that will live on in our hearts forever.
Julie is survived by her loving spouse of 53 years, Archie, her three devoted children, Virginia, Jorge (Sylvia), and Robert, and her four adoring grandchildren, Justin, Sean, Cristina and Daniela.

María Julia Díaz, de 75 años, falleció pacíficamente el 28 de Septiembre de 2021, en Miami, Florida, donde había residido la mayor parte de su vida adulta. Maria Julia "Julie" nació el 23 de Noviembre de 1945, de Rafael Keith y María Luisa Aguilar Rodríguez, en San José, Costa Rica. Vivió allí hasta los 13 años, cuando se mudó con su familia a Wantagh, Nueva York, donde se graduó de Wantagh High School en 1964. Conoció a su esposo, Arquimides "Archie" Diaz, en 1966, en una fiesta en Baldwin, Long Island, donde nos dicen que quedó impresionada con su nuevo carro Mustang. Pronto se casaron en la Catedral de St. Agnes, en Rockville Center, Long Island, el 12 de Octubre de 1968, y pasaron su luna de miel en Miami. Tuvieron a su hija, Virginia Marie, en Plainview, Long Island, y poco después, la joven familia decidió mudarse a Florida ya que la ocupación de su esposo, en aire acondicionado y refrigeración, sería mucho más provechosa en un clima más cálido. Después de un par de años, tuvieron sus hijos, Jorge Alberto y Roberto Luis. Julie fue una madre cariñosa y dedicada, que trabajó en las escuelas durante toda su vida adulta para poder estar en casa cuando sus hijos regresaban de la escuela. Trabajó como Gerente de cafetería en la escuela primaria Olympia Heights, la escuela secundaria Riviera Junior y la escuela primaria Marjorie Stoneman Douglas, y se jubiló en 2004. Se aseguró de que sus tres hijos hicieran de la educación una prioridad máxima y de que se graduaran de la universidad (dos de ellos de las escuelas de "Ivy League"); siempre estuvo muy orgullosa de los muchos logros de sus hijos y nietos. Julie siempre tuvo una sonrisa en su rostro y era conocida por todos por su disposición a ayudar a quienes lo necesitaban. Fue una devota Católica y feligresa de mucha de su vida en la Iglesia Católica St. Timothy en Miami. Ella deja atrás una vida de hermosos recuerdos que vivirán en nuestros corazones para siempre.
A Julie le sobreviven su amado esposo durante 53 años, Archie, sus tres devotos hijos, Virginia, Jorge (Sylvia) y Robert, y sus cuatro adorados nietos, Justin, Sean, Cristina y Daniela.
