Maria C. Barroso's Obituary
Maria C Barroso, 89, passed away on October 13, 2021. She was born in Manzanillo, Cuba in 1932. She met the love of her life in 1951 while pursuing her degree in Pharmacy. They married in 1953 and quickly started a family. Together they had a daughter and son. In 1968, they moved to the United States and lived in New Jersey and Virginia before building a life in Oklahoma until retirement. The family moved to Miami in 1996 to be closer to extended family. Maria was a devout Catholic, loved the Lord and enjoyed playing the lotto, cruising, and taking care of the neighborhood animals.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Dr. Jose Luis Barroso; her daughter Maria Stephens and son Jose Barroso III all of Miami, FL; granddaughters, Jessika (Matthew) Thompson and Rosanna Matyastik; four great grandchildren, all of Dallas, TX; brother Raphael (Nancy) Sanchez of Miami, FL; and a host of other family members.
She’s preceded in death by her parents.
