Beatriz, Leonardo, 97 died at his home on July, 12th, 2021 in Miami, Florida. Born on February 1st, 1924 in Habana, Cuba. His parents were Leonardo Beatriz, and Manuela Gonzalez Alvarez. He Married renowned master artist painter Dulce Beatriz in 1959, and shortly after both moved to the United States in 1960. He Frequently appeared on several radio, and television shows in Cuba, as a guitarist, specialized in Spanish regional music. He also traveled throughout the United States on tour, with the renowned Ana Maria’s Spanish Ballet as a classical guitarist, he performed in thirty-eight concerts, in seventeen states, represented by world renowned impresario Sol Hurok.
Leonardo Beatriz studied in Spain, under Catalan teachers, the techniques for the application of gold, and polychrome silver, as essential elements of refined ornamentation. He performed in depth studies, relating to the conversation of oil paintings, and created certain very advanced techniques, for application to same, especially for those corresponding to the XVII- XVIII – XIX centuries. He also invented a technique for stretching canvas on frame, and was congratulated by the Trademark and Patent engineers in Washington D.C., when he was given the registration document, it said: “It is the most complete, and ingenious system, created to date.”
In 1977 the mayor, honorable Stephen P. Clark, named Leonardo Beatriz, and his wife Dulce Beatriz, Ambassadors of Culture, accrediting both of them as representatives of Miami Dade County, they both traveled together every year as Ambassadors, throughout a great majority of European nations: Belgium, Holland, Italy, Germany, France, Greece, Spain, Egypt from Alexandra to Abu-Simbel, making studies of their ancient cultures.
