Lawrence Diaz Jr.
Beloved father, grandfather, and brother lost his brief battle with cancer.
Lawrence (Larry) was born in Manhattan New York on June 22, 1947 to parents Lawrence Diaz Sr. and Lucille De la Paz. He was raised by his father and his 2nd wife Yolanda
He enlisted in the United States Army in 1964 and served in the vietnam war, he was Honorably Discharged in 1968. Unfortunately, he was exposed to agent orange which led to a diagnoses of multiple myeloma and eventually his death.
He met his wife Lillian in 1969, they were married and had two children, Rachel and Marcus. He had a special relationship with each of his children and loved them both immensely. Although the marriage ended in divorce the two remained friends throughout the years and she was by his side in his final days.
He was the best grandpa ever. His granddaughters and great grandson all referred to him as Ito. He had a terrible memory but somehow always remembered to send them birthday cards. His great grandson Emmett brought him great joy in his final years. He made an impact on all of their lives and will live in their memories.
He is survived by his children Rachel and Marcus, granddaughters Natalia, Amanda, Naomi and Stephanie, great grandsons Emmett and Nathan, and his brothers Stewart, Ralph and Alfred.
