Julian Jose Hernandez's Obituary
It is with deepest sorrow that we inform you that Julian J. Hernandez at age 94 passed February 5, 2026. He died in Miami, Florida surrounded by his beloved wife Thania and his two daughters Miriam Martinez and Dolly Hernandez. In the most recent months his health declined but he still gave us that beautiful smile even when he was grumpy. Julian was a man who loved his sleep but loved his wife dearly and his children. Julian always said he has had a very happy and blessed life, he had nothing to complain about. Born in Havana Cuba , on February 22, 1931, he was the son of the late Miguel and Mariana Hernandez. Julian graduated from the University of Havana with a Business / Accounting degree. He worked for GE in Havana right after his graduation. Due to the communist regime in Cuba in the 1960’s , Julian with his family crossed the pond to the United states and started life all over gain in New York City. In the beginning he held several positions in accounting until he started with AMF, Inc. White Plains, NY. He quickly had several promotions and became SVP of International Bowling Division. Julian during this time traveled extensively to Europe and Asia. AMF, Inc. became more after 25 years, due to a take over, however when one door closes one opens. Dad’s dream became a reality, as it led him to move to Florida and fulfilled his dream of starting his own tax and accounting firm. And so when you see life lived to its end, you can say something definitive about what it was. We can say something definitive about our Julian. What made him wonderful and lovable was the fidelity and depth of his love for his wife Thania and his children and in that order. They were his world and nothing more mattered. Julian showed his children what it meant to be a great husband and father. He married Thania and were married to this day 72 plus years. He simply adored her, he laughed, cried with her and for her. He was dedicated to her totally. We could remember many days, that our father would call us, and say where is your mother! Screaming and yelling. It was such a love that it was truly beautiful and like no other. We should all be blessed with such love. WHEN YOU SAY GOODBYE TO your husband of 72 years and a parent, you are suddenly living in a whole new world. The shock of this adjustment will shake your very core. We have been very lucky to have had Julian for 94 plus years. Julian was quite active till he turned 90 and his famous line was hey I am 90 years old! 2nd in line to his family was work and rarely missed a day. He was truly a role model for many who he lead especially when working for AMF, Inc. and most recently building his own accounting firm. Having his own practice was his dream and his wishes came true. In addition, to his wife and daughter, other close family survivors include Vivian and Ralph Navarro and Mark Anthony Gualtieri as well as many beloved grand-nieces and nephew. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Memorial Plan Westchester Funeral Home located at 9800 SW 24th St, Miami, FL 33165.
