Juan Miguel Pujol's Obituary
Juan Pujol 1953-2023, age 69, passed away peacefully in the presence of family, February 1, 2023.
He was born February 24, 1953 in Havana, Cuba to Juan and Onelia Pujol. Juan was a proud Cuban-American, who emigrated to Miami in April 1963, with his parents and sister Zenaida. He started working at the age of 13, helped provide for his family, and contributed to their efforts to bring his grandparents from Cuba to join them in Miami.
Juan had a strong work ethic, which also was evident in his commitment to his passion of baseball. For over 35 years he coached youth teams, and was the President of the Kendall Hammocks Optimist Baseball League. He was respected and beloved for his knowledge of the sport, his fairness, and his love of baseball.
Juan had a great sense of humor and smile, loved to joke around, hear funny stories, and laugh with friends and family. He loved sports, and was a devoted fan of the Dolphins, Heat, Hurricanes, Panthers and Marlins. He was fiercely committed to providing for his children, and he could always be trusted and depended on. Juan loved deeply and will be heartbreakingly missed by his family, friends and dog, Anakin.
He is survived by his three sons, Johnny, Michael and wife Jessica, David and wife Nicole, and daughter, Jennifer.
One of the greatest joys in his life were his five grandchildren: Alexander, James, Catherine, Wyatt and Leo.
Please join us in celebrating his life on February 26th from 1-5 p.m. at the St. Raymond of Peñafort Parish Hall.
