Juan A Estevez Jr.'s Obituary
Juan Estevez, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away May 4, 2024 at the age of 74 after fighting a long illness. Juan was born on August 22, 1949 in Havana, Cuba. He is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia; his loving daughters, Patti (Tony Franyie) and Cristina; his biggest pride being his grandchildren, TJ and Lucia Franyie; his sisters, Lourdes (Massoud Nasseri) and Beatriz Estevez; nephew, niece, aunt and numerous cousins, as well as his extended in law-family.
Juan left Cuba with his family in 1960 at the age of 11, first living in Spain and Puerto Rico before relocating to the U.S. He had a successful and well -respected career for 50 years as an executive in the music industry - beginning with the startup of a record company with his father in the early 1970's representing one of the most well-known Spanish singers, and then being one of the principals in launching the Latin division of a main record company in the late 1970's and signing a local group later achieving worldwide success. At the end of his career and following the evolving music industry, along his long- time friend and partner, represented hundreds of labels worldwide in their very successful digital distribution company. One of Juan's biggest recognitions is receiving a Grammy from the Latin Grammy Recording Academy as a producer in 2015.
Juan was a devoted family man and loyal friend, with deep faith and integrity, and will be truly missed by all who knew him. Services: Visitation will be held on May 8, 2024, 6:00 - 09:00PM at Ferdinand Funeral Home, 2546 SW. 8th St. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on May 9, 2024 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church,7377 SW 64th St. followed by private interment at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery.
