My grandfather Abo was someone who I loved very much and could always count on for almost anything. He was kind, funny, and had a calm, steady presence that made me feel comfortable and cared for.

Family meant everything to him. Whether he was picking us up from school, cheering us on at games, or spending time together in Marco Island, Abo never missed a moment. Some of my favorite memories are car rides with the music blasting, fishing off the dock, and laughing over his subtle jokes that always made him laugh more than anyone else.

He supported us in everything - sports, school, after school Pizza Hut - you name it, and showed us what it meant to be dependable, loving, and there for us.

We will miss him more than words can say, but we are grateful for the memories, the laughter, and the love he gave us. Abo we will miss you!

My memories working with Jose for 25 years, and the friendship we built in all that time, are special, wonderful times and will always be cherished.
I learned so much in the Hematology lab from the “best of the best.” His knowledge was endless, his professionalism was respected, his positive attitude and willingness to help, could always be counted on. He would say when you asked him for help with anything, “No problema” and it really wasn’t.
As my amigo, we shared many stories about our families. He was so proud of everyone, but especially of his grandchildren, with their school and sports activities. He would get so excited to talk about it. I would share with him the same about my girls. Even until recently at our visits, by name… he would ask about them. He cared and wanted to know. I would update him about all his coworkers in the lab and he would tell me of new and wonderful moments happening in his family. It made him smile to remimisce and me too.
I was fortunate to know Jose all these years. He was kind and an amazing human being this world will miss.

I had the privilege of knowing Jose Muñiz for 45 years, and in that time I came to know a man defined by quiet strength, humility, and a genuine zest for life. Jose was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a loyal friend—someone whose calm presence made those around him feel grounded and at ease.
He took immense pride in his family, especially his grandchildren. Whether shuttling them to and from school, attending games and events, or cheering them on from the sidelines, Jose never missed a moment. He supported them wholeheartedly in whatever they pursued, and they knew they could always count on him.
Jose loved baseball and rarely missed a game, but the true love of his life was Alicia. He adored her completely, and together they shared a life filled with travel, laughter, and time well spent. Their home in Marco Island was a place of joy and togetherness—a second home for the family—where the grandchildren made lasting memories enjoying the beach, fishing, and boating with their grandfather.
Jose leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and presence. We will miss him deeply and forever cherish the time we were blessed to share with him. He will always remain in our hearts

Hubiera deseado conocerte antes , cuando estabas lleno de fuerza y energía. Estoy segura que nuestras conversaciones hubieran durado el doble y nuestras risas hubieran sonado mas altas .
Ni la enfermedad ni la adversidad pudieron borrar de tu cara la sonrisa ni de tu corazón la nobleza . Y aun desde tu silla seguiste siendo imprescindible .
Agradezco a la vida el haberte conocido , agradezco como me recibiste y la dulzura con la que siempre me trataste porque siendo la persona maravillosa que fuiste conmigo te ganaste sin esfuerzo mi cariño .
Siento mucho que no estés , se que en esta otra dimensión vas a seguir conquistando corazones y cuando nos volvamos a encontrar voy a estar muy feliz de verte y vamos a seguir todas nuestras conversaciones sobre Cuba que quedaron interrumpidas .

I have many fond memories of my dad.

He loved his grandsons very much and would pick them up from school on most days. He would take them to there after school activities. He went to all there basketball & football games. He loved his grand children very much ♥️

He loved working at Baptist Hospital. He worked there for over 45 years and loved all his colleagues ♥️

He loved Marco Island. He went on long walks on the beach and fished from his dock. ♥️

He also loved my mom with all his heart ♥️. He called her Alicita . They travel to all parts of the world and took many cruises. What a beautiful life he had married for 62 years 2 kids and 6 grandkids!

We miss you ABO but know you are in heaven and will be our guardian angel🙏🏻🤍

My favorite memory with my grandfather, Abo, is when he’d pick me up from school with a fresh box of pepperoni pizza from Pizza Hut. We’d eat the pizza in the car on our way home as he asked me about my day.

I’ll also never forget fishing with Abo at his favorite place, Marco Island. We’d catch fish from the dock, cook it, and enjoy fresh fish for dinner together.

Abo will always hold a special place in my heart.
