Jose A Gonzalez (Cheo), 90 years old, of Hialeah, FL, passed away on November 22, 2025.

Jose was born on May 7, 1935, in Cuba to Agustin Gonzalez and Filomena Lorenzo. He lived in the same house in Hialeah for over 60 years, where he and his wife raised their sons and often hosted family meals and barbecues. He especially loved barbecued ribs from his grill or anyone else.

He retired from Aerothrust in Miami International Airport, where he worked for more than 20 years as a final assembly mechanic and test cell operator. Jose could be counted on to help with any home projects, like laying floors or changing light fixtures. He passionately loved his family, his barbecue, fishing, and his church. He loved reading and studying the Bible with his wife and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lidia, his two sons, Norberto (Linda) and Jose Luis (Cary), his four grandchildren, Tony (Megan), Alex (Stephanie), Jose Luis Jr (Melissa), and Cristina, and his four great-grandchildren, Sophia, Adrian, McKenna, and Valentina. He is also survived by his siblings Orlando (Estella), Luisa, and Carmen (Tony). Jose was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Bernardo, Erasmo, and Santiago, and numerous beloved family members.

Visitation is scheduled on Friday, November 28, 4 pm–10 pm at San Jose Funeral Home, 250 East 4 Avenue, Hialeah, FL 33010. A short graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, November 29 at 9:30 am, at Vista Memorial Gardens, 14200 NW 57 Avenue, Miami Lakes, FL. 33014.
