Jerry Renee Ave's Obituary
Jerry was born in Palembang, Indonesia on November 13th, 1949 to Gerardus Johannes Ave and Daisy Poortman Ave. When he was 10, his family left Indonesia, moving to the Nederlands. In 1969 his family moved to the United States after a two year immigration process and resided in Covina, California. Jerry joined the US Air Force in 1970, and spent 15 out of his 20 year military career in Air Traffic Control retiring in December of 1990. He loved this country and became a Naturalized Citizen of the United States of America in January 1982. He worked briefly as an agent for USAir Express, before becoming a flight attendant for USAirways in November 1992. In 1995 he married Sandy, becoming an instant stepfather to her two adult children. They moved to Homestead, Florida in 2010. He retired in August 2014, and resided in Homestead, Florida until his passing.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his country, to family and friends, his sense of humor, his jokes and pranks he played on so many, and laughter that touched anyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his love of life, and making every moment a memory.

Beloved husband of Sandy Ave. Loving Step-father of Wendy Lee Jones, Eric Michael Locke. Dear brother of Margerithe Torres, Hedy Nederlof, and Elizabeth Cole. Cherished Opa of Andrew M Jones, Holly Sachse. Adored great Opa of Violet Freya Sachse.
His nephews Brian Nederlof and Jonathan Cole, his nieces Jennifer Nederlof and Danielle Cole, three grand-nieces Brooke and Briana Nederlof, and Alexandra Cole. His great grand-nephew James Cole, as well as his Aunt Ilse Grossouw, and his cousins, Donald Ave, Mariella Ave, Marcel Flikweert, Veronique Flikweert, Jacques Grossouw, and Kristin Grossouw.
