Jeanne Hesse Kramer's Obituary
Laura Jeanne Hesse Kramer, 80, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025. Born September 27, 1945, in Jacksonville, FL to John Herman Hesse and Ethel Mary Ogden Hesse she was descended from American colonist John Ogden of Rye, NY and Revolutionary War soldiers Daniel Ogden, Jr., William Bloom, Sr. and Thomas Wakefield. She was a member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution).
Jeanne married Roger Leroy Kramer of Wisconsin on September 26, 1981. The couple started their married life in Jacksonville before moving to Illinois, San Diego and ultimately to Wisconsin. Roger preceded her in death on March 18, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister Linda Catherine. Survivors include her sister Barbara (John) Baron, nephew John W. Baron III (Lara Kiesau), niece Katherine Baron (Marcos) Lopez, step-children Paul Kramer (Julie) and Ann Kramer (John) Winegardner, and cousins Ginger (Ed) Murphy, Beth (Charlie) Reddick, Susanne (Mike) Cusick and Rev. Michael Hesse (Claudia).
A 1963 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville she went on to attend Wake Forest College and Florida State University before attaining her Masters in Accounting from San Diego State University. Over the years she was active in Girl Scouts and Trinity Lutheran Church where she loved to sing in the choir. She could play the piano beautifully and sewed many of her own clothes. She was a certified SCUBA diver. While in San Diego working with the Internal Revenue Service she developed a love of horses which she carried with her into retirement in Wisconsin. She owned several and loved to ride and show them having trained them in dressage and jumping.
Upon Roger’s death Jeanne moved to Miami Lakes, FL to live near her sister Barbara and her family. She was a devoted daughter, wife, sister and friend whose tender care and encouragement were sources of inspiration to those she loved.
There will be no formal memorial service.
