I knew Javi for a life time since he lived with his parents in Falls Church Virginia. He was a kind and sweet soul and I love him dearly. I know he is at peace now in God’s company.

Javi was my uncle and beloved brother to his siblings. Though his life wasn't always an easy one, Javi faced the world in his own way, through his love and commitment for his family and friends.
One of the things he loved most was Georgetown University, and of course, Georgetown basketball. He was a true Hoya through and through, and could always be counted on to know the most up-to-date stats of the team. He didn't just love basketball, I think he also loved the sense of community it created for him: a place where people truly saw and valued him, and made him feel like part of the team.
Javi always made an effort to connect with his nieces and nephews, finding topics they were interested in and chatting you up about it. I remember the smiles that would brighten his face at Christmas when he would open a gift and say "Oh, Poti! I loooooove it!" It is so sad that he has left us so soon, but it brings me some peace and comfort knowing that he will be welcomed into Heaven by his mom (Titi) and sister (Bea), who both loved him fiercely.

He had such a lovely smile!
Uncle Javi had such a nice laugh. He loved a joke or a friendly jab.

When I first met Javi he hardly came up to my waist. He was a gentle and carefree 3 years old .. but attentive and observant of everything going on around him in the very busy Hernandez household.
The next time I met Javi was 50 years later! The toddler I remembered was now a man towering a foot and a half over
my head ...still seeing the world with the eyes and heart of a child..this time a well seasoned child. ...and he politely greeted
me with the sweetest and most gentle nod! His parents prepared him and watch well over him throughout his life, and in their absence his siblings were truly their little brother's keepers. May God keep Javi perpetually in His care and love,
and bless his loving family.💖
