Janeen B. Walsh's Obituary
On Monday, January 25, God called on our beloved Janeen Burke Walsh to join him. Janeen fought courageously against her cancer. Janeen joins her husband, Daniel Patrick Walsh, Sr., her father Captain Michael Burke, and brothers Danny & Joey. Born in Miami on June 9, 1957, Janeen is remembered for her endless compassion and empathy towards others. She was a mother to many more than the four children she carried in her womb. Janeen was selfless & found happiness in helping others. One of Janeen's biggest joys was caring for her many grandchildren who lovingly called her "Gammy." She was so very proud of the family she raised and everything her children had accomplished. Janeen was always firm, yet supportive and encouraging in raising her children. As a testament to the exemplary mother Janeen was, she was surrounded by all four of her children, around the clock, in her final days. In her early twenties, Janeen met Dan and they were married shortly thereafter. Dan often said, "My wife she's my one true Love!" They had a wonderful 43 years together where they created countless beautiful memories.
Janeen was creative, spiritual & loved everything about nature and the sea. One of her fondest memories as a teen was traveling around the world on the Yankee Trader. She always said the African Safari was one of the best experiences of her life. Janeen was always finding animals to rescue & love, from dogs & cats, to horses & even a fox. And of course, we can't forget her little monkey girl, Dasha. Her creative side led her to start, My Ceramic, where she taught others how to paint ceramics & bring out their own creativity. She especially enjoyed hosting parties for kids and loved seeing the pride they felt in their own work. She is survived by her 4 children, Jeannie & her husband Marco, Danny JR. & his wife Eileen, Andrew Sr., his wife Suray, and Kellie, her 9 grandchildren, Andy, Mylo, Malachy, Junie, Patrick, Lucas, Lincoln, JJ, and Zoe. She is also survived by her mother, June Burke, her siblings Michael, Susan, and Polly, as well as her many cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and other friends. Janeen will be remembered as a loving wife, nurturer & mother to all. Although she was called too soon, we find comfort that she is now reunited with her husband, Dan and they will be watching & smiling down on us, in each other's arms once again.
