James Michael Lewis' Obituary
James Michael Lewis, 70, of Homestead, Florida passed away in Miami on December 8, 2020. Michael was born in Beach Grove, Indiana to James Lewis and Helen Dossey on December 11, 1949.
He was predeceased by his parents James and Helen Lewis, and brothers, Harold and Tommy Lewis. Michael is survived by his brother, Butch Lewis of Leisure City, Florida and step-brothers Don Davis and wife Brenda of Longview, Texas, Randy Davis and wife Marylou of Gulf Port, Mississippi, and George Davis and wife Ruthann of Deltona Florida, and nephews, Dale Lewis of Leisure City, Florida and Jamie Lewis, of Sebring, Florida. Special friends were Rio Stark Cordy of Orange Beach, Alabama and Alvin and Celia Zenon of Homestead, Florida.
Michael graduated from South Dade High School and Miami-Dade Community College. He went to work for Miami-Dade College from which he was retired. He also worked for Burdine's making many friends and return customers.
He was a kind and generous man who lovingly cared for his mother in her later years. As a young man, he was a great friend and supporter of the Arts. He enjoyed traveling up until his health declined. Michael will always be remembered for his witty sense of humor.
