Isabel’s journey as a nurse began with Baptist Health Systems for over 30 years where she discovered her calling. Her hands were gentle, and her heart overflowed with empathy. As a registered nurse, she tended to countless patients, providing comfort, solace, and hope during their most vulnerable moments.
Her commitment extended beyond the hospital walls. Isabel was a mother who embraced her role with boundless love. She raised her children with kindness, imparting life lessons and nurturing their dreams. Her home was a haven of warmth, where laughter echoed and memories were woven into the fabric of everyday life.
Isabel’s colleagues admired her professionalism and tireless work ethic. Patients and families found solace in her presence, knowing that Isabel would be there to listen, to heal, and to uplift.
Isabel Hagan Maytan, a cherished figure in her family, leaves behind a rich tapestry of love and connections. She is survived by her children: Dennis Ray Maytan, Jr. (married to Jackie Maytan), Kelly June Maytan, and Douglas E. Maytan (married to Karen Maytan). The family tree extends further with her beloved grandchildren: Brooke Maytan, Ciara Maytan, Douglas R. Maytan, Kenneth Maytan, Justin Namon, Ryan Camarena, and Caitlin Camarena. The next generation is represented by her great-grandchildren: Harper Namon, Emmi Namon, and Lyla Namon. Isabel's siblings, Donna Hagan Anderson and Gale Carr, share in the memories and grief. As we honor her memory, we remember her parents, Leticia Van Houten and Gilbert Hagan, who have now reunited with her in eternity.
